We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), the framework every registered nursery in England uses. We don’t follow one particular teaching method. We watch each child closely and plan around what interests them.
Where every child begins
For babies and toddlers, the EYFS focuses on three prime areas. They are the foundations for everything that follows.
Communication & language
Talking, singing, rhymes and books all day long. We respond to every coo and babble, and help older babies find new words every day.
Physical development
Tummy time, crawling, cruising and first steps, then climbing, walking, first marks and early independence.
Personal, social & emotional
Secure attachments to a key person, gentle routines, turn-taking and growing independence.
You’re part of your child’s learning
Your key personEvery child has a key person who plans for them, knows their routines and is your first point of contact.
Watching and planningWe observe what each child enjoys and is working on, and plan the next steps around their interests.
Sharing with youWe share what your child has been doing, and ask about what they love at home, so learning joins up.
Regular reviewsYour key person meets with you regularly to talk through your baby’s progress and what comes next.
