Our building was refitted with young children’s safety in mind, and our policies follow the EYFS safeguarding and welfare requirements.
How we keep babies safe
Secure entry
Both entrances stay locked and are opened only by staff. Staff check who is at the door before opening it.
Visitors
Every visitor has their identity checked, is signed in and out, and is never left alone with children.
Named collectors only
Children go home only with adults you have named. Anyone else must be arranged in advance and give an agreed password.
Safer sleep
A separate sleep room with individual cots at 16–20°C. Sleeping children are always in sight and hearing of staff, and an adult is present for every sleep of a baby under six months.
Ratios
At least one adult for every three children under two.
Paediatric first aid
A member of staff with a current paediatric first aid certificate is always on site and goes on every outing.
Safe outings
Every outing is risk-assessed, with at least one adult for every three children, a phone, first aid kit, the register and emergency contacts.
Fire safety
One-hour fire-resisting construction, interlinked smoke and heat detection, evacuation cots in every room and two escape routes. We practise evacuation at least once a term, including at nap time.
Hygiene & health
We follow UK Health Security Agency guidance for children’s settings, with daily cleaning schedules and a clear illness and exclusion policy.
Food safety
Staff who handle food are trained in food hygiene, and we’re registering as a food business with Ealing Council.
Safeguarding
All staff have enhanced DBS checks and safeguarding and child protection training from their first day.
No smoking, no pets
Smoking and vaping are not allowed anywhere on site, and there are no animals on the premises.
Our application to join the Ofsted Early Years Register is in progress. When registration is complete, you’ll be able to find us on the Ofsted website and we’ll publish our URN here.
